Browsing Plugins

The Plugin Browser is the discovery hub for all available Ansible plugins. You can search, filter, and sort plugins before adding them to your scenarios or cloning them for customization.

Open the Plugin Browser from the Rogue Architect sidebar. It shows all plugins you have access to — your own, your team’s, Rogue Labs official plugins, and community-published plugins.

Use the search bar at the top to find plugins by name. Results can be sorted by:

Sort OptionDescription
Most UsedRanked by how many times the plugin has been added to scenarios (default)
NameAlphabetical order
Latest ReleaseMost recently published first
CategoryGrouped by plugin type

Click the Filter button to open the filter modal. Filters can be combined across all three axes:

Plugins are organized into seven categories:

CategoryDescription
ActionGeneral-purpose automation tasks
RoleService roles and server configurations
ApplicationSoftware installation and setup
VulnerabilityIntentional vulnerabilities for training
AttackOffensive security techniques
DefenseDefensive security tools and hardening
File CopyFile transfer operations

Filter by who created and maintains the plugin:

OwnershipDescription
MePlugins you created
TeamPlugins owned by your team members
Rogue LabsOfficial plugins maintained by Rogue Labs
StaffPlugins from Rogue Arena staff
CommunityPlugins shared by other Rogue Arena users

Filter by compatible operating system — only plugins with templates matching your selected OS will show.

Each plugin in the browser shows:

  • Name and description
  • Category badge (color-coded by type)
  • Creator information
  • Usage count — how many times it’s been used in scenarios
  • Compatibility icons — which operating systems it supports

Click on any plugin card to open the detail modal. This shows:

  • Full description and usage instructions
  • Version history with changelogs
  • Compatible VM templates
  • Dependencies on other plugins
  • Permission indicators (whether you can edit, use, or clone)

From the detail modal you can:

  • Add to scenario — drag the plugin onto a machine on your canvas
  • Clone — create your own copy to customize (if cloning is permitted)
  • Open in Plugin Dev — jump to the editor (if you have edit access)
