Phase 4: Curriculum
The Curriculum phase is where you create the teaching content that students work through alongside your scenario’s VMs. This includes chapters, sections, questions, tasks, and other structured learning material.
Creating Curriculum Content
Section titled “Creating Curriculum Content”Use the Curriculum Builder to create your teaching content:
- Open the Curriculum panel in the left dock, or click Go to Manage Curriculum in the Help panel
- Add at least one chapter or section to your curriculum
- Build out questions, tasks, and instructional content within each section
Content Types
Section titled “Content Types”The Curriculum Builder supports several content types for engaging training material:
- Chapters — Major sections that organize your curriculum
- Sections — Subsections within chapters
- Questions — Text responses, multiple choice, or file upload submissions
- Tasks — Objectives students must complete (e.g., capture a flag, configure a service)
Linking Curriculum to Your Canvas
Section titled “Linking Curriculum to Your Canvas”After creating content, link it to your canvas version:
- Open the Curriculum panel in the left dock on the canvas
- Select the curriculum version to link
- Confirm the link
This association tells the platform which curriculum to display when students deploy your scenario.
Team Collaboration Unlock
Section titled “Team Collaboration Unlock”If your scenario supports team-based training, you can configure Team Collaboration Unlock — a mode where chapters unlock based on combined team progress rather than individual progress. This encourages collaboration across team members working in the same scenario.
Curriculum and the Build Cycle
Section titled “Curriculum and the Build Cycle”Curriculum is independent of the build cycle. You can:
- Start writing curriculum before your first build
- Update curriculum without rebuilding or re-templatizing
- Link different curriculum versions to different canvas versions
